Phuket is Thailand’s largest island, famous for its gorgeous beaches and dramatic sunset views over the Andaman Sea on the west coast. The most sophisticated and developed seaside destination in Thailand, this magic island has something for everyone from water sports and golf to shopping, dining and taking thrilling excursions to explore this enchanting destination.

Patong is the liveliest beach on Phuket, and although the resort is set in a quiet inland neighbourhood it’s nevertheless within easy strolling distance of the famous seashore with its three kilometre crescent of golden sand. Along the way is Jungceylon Mall, a must visit with its dizzying array of shops, restaurants and cinemas and a multitude of dining venues, cafes and bars crowding the streets outside.

Patong is justly famous for its vibrant nightlife, and for those who like to party the night away, the clubs, discos and multiple entertainment venues found along Bangla Road are close at hand.

If you prefer not to walk we run a regular free shuttle service to all these locations using a typical three-wheeler vehicle known as a tuk tuk.

Let our concierge and travel desk help you plan a day trip to the visually stunning Phang Nga Bay or Phi Phi islands or go scuba diving and snorkelling in the pristine Similan marine national park that is renowned as one of the best diving destinations in the world.

Not to be missed is a visit to old Phuket town with its heritage Sino-Portuguese shophouses and magnificent colonial style mansions of the early 20th century tin magnates.

With so many fascinating options, the only challenge for our guests is choosing what activity to enjoy from the variety on offer. One thing is for sure, there will never be a dull moment at Sawaddi Patong Resort.

Arrive how to get there

Phuket is a tropical island paradise located on the south-west coast of Thailand facing the sparkling blue waters of the Andaman Sea. Phuket International is Thailand’s second busiest airport with multiple daily flights from Bangkok, Koh Samui and Chiang Mai. The flight time from Bangkok is just over an hour in duration. There are also direct connections from Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia and India as well as charter flights from Europe and Asia.

We are happy to meet our guests on arrival and provide transport for the 40 minute drive to the resort. For guests arriving under their own steam please consult the map for our exact location.

Season when to visit

Phuket’s climate is pleasant and temperate with daytime temperatures averaging 30°C all year round. November to February is somewhat cooler than the summer months that run from March to May. From June to October the southwest monsoon greens the vegetation and replenishes the island’s water reserves. It is rare to have more than a couple of days of consecutive rain and generally this season is characterised by short refreshing showers in the afternoon.

Peak season runs from December to March but other times of the year are just as enjoyable including Songkran the Thai New Year water festival in April and Loy Krathong festival of lights in November.
